Kia's Story

Dog Name: Kia
Age: 9
Gender: Female
Breed: pitbull mix
Weight: 50 pounds
Crate trained: Not a fan, does amazing in room
Potty trained: yes
Dog friendly: yes
Cat friendly: unknown
Kid friendly: yes
Vaccinated: Yes
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Heartworm: Negative
Microchipped: Yes
Energy level: Low

Meet Kia! This sweet senior is the total package. She was surrendered to CACC due to housing issues. While she started out a bit shy and sad, she has really started opening up in the past couple weeks. Giving kisses, spending more time with us. She is not a Velcro dog. When she is done spending time with someone, she will go by the gate to go back upstairs in her room, or if you are in her room, she will drag her pet bed and blankets to the other side of the room.

She does not really like the crate, but she does amazing in a closed room. She sleeps a large portion of the day. She loves blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, etc and will set them up in the area of the room she wants them and go to sleep. It’s the cutest thing.

When she is not sleeping, she loves taking walks. Taking in all the smells with her nose to the ground. She will also power walk with you in the evening. She enjoys evening walks a lot since it is cooler at night. (I agree with her ?). She can be pretty playful with her soft toys when she is in the mood. She LOVES treats and is learning to take them gently.

Kia is just an all around great girl. She is very low maintenance, does great with kids and has done well with my small dogs and our neighbor’s pug. Very calm and not reactive. She basically ignores her foster siblings. She is a chill girl who would be a great fit for many homes.

If you're interested in meeting Kia, please fill out an application at the link below.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DHDN/Dog
