Khloe - In Foster's Story
Breed: Pit/Lab mix
Age: 9 months (as of 1/5/26)
Gender: Female
Weight: 56lbs
Energy Level: High
Adoption Fee: $325 + $50 refundable deposit

Am I good with:
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes (Meet and greet required)
Children: Yes

About me: Meet Khloe! 💕

Khloe has been with The Animal Rescue Project since April 2025 and is a proud member of the “Kardashian litter.” Khloe has an assumed rare and painful condition called Craniomandibular Osteopathy, a developmental bone disease that affects the skull and jaw. Because of this, much of her first 5–6 months was focused on comfort and pain management rather than typical puppy play.
The good news? Khloe is feeling better and finally getting to enjoy being a puppy!

She’s playful, energetic, and still learning just how big and strong she is. Khloe can play a bit rough, so she would thrive in a home with another confident dog who enjoys active play, especially games of chase, which are her absolute favorite. She loves being outdoors and will happily let you know when she’s ready to go outside.

Khloe is still working on her potty training and may have an occasional indoor accident, so she’ll need a patient family willing to continue helping her learn. After spending so long unable to use her jaw normally, she’s also learning what’s appropriate to chew, something she’s very excited about now that she can carry balls and chew on bones like any other pup.

Despite everything she’s been through, Khloe remains incredibly joyful and affectionate. She shows her gratitude with endless kisses, loves to cuddle, and wants nothing more than to be right by her people’s side. Khloe has overcome so much, and her happy spirit is truly inspiring. She’s ready to find a forever home where she can continue to grow, play, and be loved.

This dog has been at ARP since: 4/12/25

-

The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet.

Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program.
They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
