Khloe

Khloe is looking for a special home. She is around 10 years old and weighs 21 pounds. We welcomed sweet Khloe to the VPR family last August after she was surrendered to our care. We don’t know her entire history, but she has been in at least three different homes over the past 5-6 years. <br/><br/>Khloe is friendly with other dogs and overall a happy girl, but she has a lot of anxieties and quirks. If she feels cornered, she may snap to ask for space, and she reacts strongly to any type of restraint. Sadly, this has made vet visits and grooming very challenging for her previous owners. Recently, we brought Khloe to our vet for a sedated groom, nail trim, and bloodwork, and they were able to place a harness and collar on her. Thankfully, this has helped us take her on walks, which she loves! <br/><br/>Over the last several months, we've watched Khloe make a lot of progress and grow to trust us. With a few of our volunteers, she's displayed true affection and trust, which has been beautiful to see. She'll lie on her back for belly rubs and race to the door to go for a walk. We are hopeful that in a calmer setting, Khloe will only grow more comfortable.<br/><br/>Due to her unpredictability, we recommend a low-traffic home without kids. Her future adopter will have to understand that she'll need plenty of time to decompress and be allowed to progress at her own pace. <br/><br/>Medically, Khloe's bloodwork and dental health are in good shape, and she is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
