While he is safe and loved, he struggles with the hustle and bustle of a busy home. What he really longs for is peace. Predictability. His person. 🐾 <br/><br/>Kenan is looking for a calm, quiet home with someone who understands that shy dogs bloom slowly — and beautifully. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. When he’s unsure, he “freezes.” When he feels safe, he melts into you. When it’s time for a walk or when his person comes home, you’ll get the sweetest tail wags that feel like pure joy. 🐾 <br/><br/>He loves: • Casual daily walks (unless it’s too cold — he’s not a fan of extreme weather!). • Lounging on the couch beside his human. • Calm, friendly dogs. • Peaceful routines. 🐾 <br/><br/>Walks are especially important for Kenan — he has a small amount of muscle loss in his back legs that we are actively rebuilding. Keeping him moving and strong is part of loving him well. The good news? He walks beautifully on leash and never pulls. Truly a gentleman. 🐾 <br/><br/>Kenan would thrive in: • A female-only home OR a home with a very gentle, soft-spoken, patient man. • A quiet household. • No children (due to his fearful nature). • Either as an only dog or with another calm, respectful dog. • A cat-friendly home. 🐾 <br/><br/>He is house trained, incredibly quiet (he rarely barks), sleeps peacefully through the night on the couch or in a dog bed, and is comfortable in a kennel. 🐾 <br/><br/>Kenan is currently on calming medication, which has been helping him adjust and build confidence. He will need to remain on it for some time — possibly long-term — and his future family should feel comfortable continuing that support if needed. 🐾 <br/><br/>He is a healthy senior boy, but like all seniors, he deserves consistent veterinary care, yearly check-ups, and someone attentive to changes as he ages. Most of all, Kenan needs someone confident in their ability to make him feel safe. Someone patient. Someone steady.
