Kemish's Story
Meet Kemish — Our Shy-but-Sweet Shepherd Boy!

Kemish is a 7-month-old German Shepherd Dog with the gentlest soul. He’s still learning how big and brave the world can be, so he needs someone who can help him build confidence.

With the people he’s gotten to know here at the shelter, Kemish is a total sweetheart — still a bit standoffish at first, but once he trusts you, he becomes a loving, snuggly companion who just wants to be close.

We’re currently helping him with leash training, and he’s making progress every day! What Kemish needs most is a patient, calm, and confident person who can show him the world isn’t so scary. With the right partner, this boy will bloom into the incredible dog we know he can be.

If you have the time, love, and patience to give, Kemish is ready to give his heart right back.
Send us a message or stop by the shelter to meet him!
Let’s help this sweet boy find the home he deserves.

By the way, Kemish is neutered, microchipped, and current on all shots -- all ready for a new home.

For more information, please call Douglas County Animal Services (DCAS) at 775-782-9061 or Douglas Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) at 775-267-7325. Or come meet me at the Douglas County Animal Shelter (please call first to make sure I'm still at the shelter). If you rent, you will be required to provide written approval from your landlord that you can have a dog. It needs to be specific, i.e. all dogs okay, no big dogs, specific breeds restricted, etc.
