Kelce is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up!

Meet Kelce!

Kelce was an owned dog who was used as nothing more than a yard ornament. Chained in the yard, he had about 3 foot radius to "play" in and a house outside to sleep in. Thankfully, we were able to convince Kelce's owner to surrender him to us and now he's gone from street life to the sweet life!

Kelce is a young pup at just around 1 year old. He's a boxer mix and weighs about 70 pounds, but he's a low rider and isn't very tall. Kelce is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find a family to call his own!

Kelce is extremely dog friendly and currently lives with 2 other dogs in his foster home. He enjoys going to the dog park and gets along with all of the different personalities he meets there. We would say he has a moderate energy level. He enjoys being active and playing with his foster family in the yard, but also will relax after he's had physical activity. He's still a young pup and would make a great adventure buddy! He also enjoys naps on the couch and cuddles.

We're not sure how Kelce would react around cats, but we're happy to test him with cats for any serious potential adopters with cats.

Kelce is very kid friendly! He's been around children ages 4-18 years and he's very kind and gentle. Due to his size and wiggliness, he could accidentally knock over a small child, but he's very sweet towards kids.

Kelce walks great on a leash! He will stay calmly with his people or just slightly ahead of them.

Kelce is fully potty trained! His foster family has even taught him how to use a bell on the backdoor to let them know when he needs to go out to potty. Kelce is also crate trained! He does great in the crate while his foster family is away from the home for work or errands.

Kelce is great about sharing food, toys and treats with his foster siblings. He would love another dog in the home to play with and keep him company. He really enjoys the companionship of another dog.

Kelce is just a happy dog, all the time! He loves human interaction and just being around people. He loves to play when it's time to play and loves to cuddle when it's time to settle down. The only "negative" thing we have to say about Kelce is that he's still a young pup and still shows some puppy like behaviors, but I will say that he's such a quick learner! Kelce LOVES people! The more, the merrier in Kelce's eyes! He enjoys belly rubs and going out on adventures. We've taken him to breweries and an event at the children's museum and he's always on his best behavior. He has a loyal and loving soul and the center of his universe would be his family. I could see him doing well with a single owner as well as a full family.
He is a big teddy bear. He is great at judging your energy level and knows when its time to play and have fun, and when its time to settle down and relax quietly.
