Meet Kegan
Kegan is ready to go to a loving home!!
Kegan struggled on the streets for months after being hit by a car. When he came to the rescue he was emaciated and could not walk. After some much needed nutrition and a bilateral FHO, he has flourished in foster care and is now ready for his forever home.
Kegan is very affectionate, adores belly rubs, going for walks and going for rides in the car. He gets along with dogs big and small. He isn't a threat to cats in his home, but he doesn't have good manners with them yet. He hasn't been tested with children but would likely be better with older kids because he still acts like a 60lb puppy (vet estimates he is 2-3 years old).
He absolutely loves the cold weather we've been having so much he rolls around on the ground and does laps in the yard.
He does well being left home alone with toys in his room indoors, and happily goes there when asked (has not been crated). He is potty trained and will ring the bell on the door when he needs to go out.
Because of his prior injuries he will need to be on daily joint supplements and arthritis medication as needed for life.
He is very smart, food motivated and responds very well to positive reinforcement, so the sky is the limit on what he can learn. He would be so happy with an active family, consisting of both humans and dogs, that would include him in their daily activities.
