Keeno - courtesy's Story

Meet KEENO, a 7-year-old, 60lb Pitbull mix with a heart as big as his smile. Rescued from the NYCACC after being abandoned by his previous owners who claimed they 'had no time for him anymore,' Keeno is now ready to find his true forever home.

Keeno has a lot to offer: he’s housetrained, knows basic commands like “Sit,” “Speak,” “Paw,” “Touch,” “Yes,” and even “Give Me Kiss.” He’s a couch potato at heart with medium to low energy, making him a perfect companion for someone seeking a loyal, laid-back dog. While Keeno has a mild history of separation anxiety, he has greatly improved in his foster home and thrives with a predictable routine. He is currently on a daily dose of Fluoxetine (Reconcile) to help him feel his best.

Keeno adores his favorite blue ball, happily trotting around the neighborhood with it in his mouth. Despite his tough start in life, he has adjusted beautifully to the hustle and bustle of NYC. Whether it’s lounging on the couch or hanging out when his foster mom chats with neighbors, Keeno takes it all in stride.

While Keeno is exceptionally friendly to strangers on walks. In in the home he'll do best low-traffic home without kids and cats. Keeno would thrive living with a homebody, retiree, or someone with a consistent, predictable schedule who understands how to provide structure and security.

Keeno loves some dogs, especially females or those smaller and younger than him. However, he can feel intimidated by dogs his size or larger, so off-leash parks or group daycare settings are not recommended.

Keeno’s current foster is a nurse who works overnight shifts, and he just snoozes the night away, showing how well-adjusted and easygoing he can be in a stable environment.

This sweet boy is fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. He’s ready to share his loyalty, love, and companionship with someone who can give him the stability and care he deserves. His adoption fee is waived, and his rescue is offering free transport to any loving home in the USA.

Keeno’s foster shares: “I first discovered Keeno in May 2023 through an emergency Facebook post that had over 1,000 shares and comments. Despite being ranked Level 4 by ACC, I knew I could take on the responsibility and give him the chance he deserved. Keeno is bright, loyal, and a true rescue dog at heart. He’s happiest when he has his person to lean on.”

If you’re ready to give Keeno the forever home he’s been waiting for, please reach out to: 484-942-8390. Keeno longs for the love and stability he’s never truly known, and he’s ready to rescue you with his fierce loyalty and companionship in return.
