Keela Bee's Story

Breed: Pitbull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: 5 years old
Sex: Spayed female
Weight: 55 pounds

BUZZ, BUZZ! IT'S ME, KEELA BEE!
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION — PLEASE PICK ME!

Hi there! My name is Keela Bee, and I'm looking for someone to make my biggest dream come true... a FOREVER HOME of my very own!
Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm a beautiful brindle girl weighing in at about 55 pounds, and my vet thinks I'm around 5 years old. I have a cute little gray muzzle that gives me a little extra character. Foster mommy says it makes me even more adorable!
Now, about my breed... well, I'm a little bit of a mystery! My DNA test found 16 different breeds in me! I'm mostly made up of bully breeds, including American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bulldog, French Bulldog, Boxer, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Bulldog. I also have 8% Chow Chow, plus little sprinkles of Cocker Spaniel, Lab, German Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog and several other breeds. So basically, I'm a one-of-a-kind bully-breed beauty with a dash of Chow and a whole lot of personality!
I'm also up to date on my vaccinations and heartworm testing, so I'm ready to start looking for my forever family!
Here's a little about my story. I spent over a YEAR at the River Rouge Animal Shelter. I did well there and had wonderful volunteers who cared for me, but I was ready for a change. I had a momma who loved me and my furry sister very much, but she was struggling to care for herself, too, and sometimes we ended up running loose. Eventually, I needed help, and I'm so grateful that people stepped in for me.
Now I'm enjoying foster life with my foster mommy and two foster fur siblings, Steve and Evie. I do really well with them! I'd likely be happiest with dogs around my size or a little bigger. Small dogs aren't recommended for me, and my foster mommy suspects kitties wouldn't be a good match either.
I'm a smart cookie, too! I know Speak, Give Me Five, Shake, Sit and Down. I love belly rubs and squeaky tennis balls. But I'm a bit particular about my toys. Foster mommy can throw five balls that I completely ignore, then toss the sixth one, and suddenly THAT'S THE ONE! I'll carry it around and squeak it like it's the greatest treasure in the world.
I do have a mischievous side. One time, I spotted the neighbor dogs in our yard and got so excited that I jumped up on the railing and knocked over foster mommy's large flower box from a 16-foot drop! Oops! Let's just say I'm a girl who can keep life interesting!
When I first arrived, I was a picky eater. But I've discovered that foster mommy is pretty easy to convince when it comes to food. Now I enjoy my dry food mixed with Freshpet, Brutus Bone Broth and a scoop of pumpkin. I may have her wrapped around my paw!
I even have my own room with a loveseat that's all mine and a window where I can watch the world go by. It's basically my own little suite! I'm also a bit of a watchdog and will let you know when something catches my attention, but I do quiet down.
What am I looking for?
A loving family who will give me the forever home I've been waiting for.
A fenced-in yard would be wonderful so I can run and play.
Older children, preferably 10 and up, would likely be best because I can get excited and might accidentally knock over a little one. I haven't been around young children enough for us to know for sure.
Dog friends around my size or bigger may be a good match, with proper introductions. No small dogs, please!
No kitties, please!
Most importantly, I want a family who will love me for the unique, funny, beautiful girl I am.
I've spent so much time waiting for my chance. The shelter volunteers cared for me, and my foster family is helping me prepare for my next adventure. Now I'm hoping my forever family is out there looking for ME!
So, if you're searching for a beautiful brindle girl with a gray muzzle, a big personality, some impressive tricks and a slightly mischievous streak, I think you may have found your girl!
Please come meet me. Let me show you my tricks, rub my belly, and maybe toss a few tennis balls until we find THE ONE.
I've waited a long time for someone to pick me. Could that someone be YOU?

Please, pick me. I promise to fill your life with love, laughter, squeaky toys and plenty of unforgettable moments.

Love and little bee kisses,
Keela Bee

If you have any questions, please email tzupoomom@gmail.com .

If you would like to apply for this dog, click here: Adoption Application

Animal Placement Bureau's standard adoption fee is $250. Our adoption process includes an application, personal and vet reference checks, and a home visit. We do not ship dogs under any circumstances.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check our events page at https://apbdogs.org/category/about-us/ for the dates and locations of our next meet and greet. Appointments outside of these events to visit our dogs are available after an application has been filled out, and processing has begun.
Please be kind to our volunteers. E-mail inquiries will be answered much faster than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voicemail.
