Any other specifics:
Are you looking for trusty canine to spend your days with and have a companion that will never let you down?
Are you retired or work from home and like to spend most of your time at home or going for walks and maybe even a small adventure from time to time?

Kavic is an uber handsome Boxer or Boxer mix around 6 years old. He is fully house trained. He loves to play with his ball and go for walks while also enjoying chill time at home. As long as he can be with his person, Kavic is happy!
Have you ever heard a Boxer talk? It's hilarious! It's not a bark, but his own language or babble. In regards to barking, he wouldn't be considered a big barker, but he will bark to let you know when he wants something or at his ball when it won't move on its own - ha!
Since noone can be perfect, although Kavic has so many wonderful qualities, he does have two flaws.
If you are retired, or work from home and are a home body that doesn't like to be out in storms, Kavic is your man! He may seem debonair, but when it starts to thunder, he shakes like a leaf and needs the comfort of his person near him.  He often sleeps in his dog bed, but he sometimes sleeps in his foster parents' bed, especially during storms. Kavic takes Trazedone for his storm anxiety and wears a thunder shirt, which seems to help a great deal. However, he still needs to be with his person to feel content and able to relax.
Kavic has also has pretty serious food guarding and needs to eat all by himself. For that reason, unfortunatley no kiddos for Kavic; only adults that understand that boundary please!

Adoption Fee: $65.00

BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.

PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.

Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care.  As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.

***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!
