KATRINA's Story

Meet Katrina – A Resilient Terrier Mix Ready for Her Second Chance

Katrina is an 8–10-year-old terrier mix who has been through more than any dog should, yet she still wants nothing more than to love and be loved. She bonds quickly, aims to please, and is truly a beautiful soul.

Katrina came to ARF under heartbreaking circumstances. After her owner passed away in the home, she and the other dogs received no help until concerned neighbors alerted authorities. Animal Control rescued three dogs from the home, including Katrina.

When she arrived at ARF, it was clear she needed some important medical care. She has since been spayed, had a dental, and received treatment for bilateral hernias. Early on, she was also picked on by the two small dogs who came with her, so she now enjoys her own cozy “luxury suite” at ARF while she waits for a family who will treasure her.

We estimate Katrina to be around 8–10 years old, though her exact age is unknown. We’re also not sure if she’s fully house-trained, so her new family should be patient and willing to help her learn. She weighs about 20 lbs—larger than she may appear in photos.

Katrina would thrive with a calm couple or individual in a home, apartment, or even a motorhome lifestyle. She’s still active enough for walks but just as happy to curl up and watch TV with her people.

Katrina must be the only pet in the home.
– No other dogs
– No cats
– No young children

After all she has overcome, Katrina deserves a peaceful, loving environment where she can finally feel safe.

If you have room in your heart for a resilient senior girl who hasn’t had an easy journey, Katrina may be the perfect companion for you.

Adoption fee: $150

At this time ARF does not adopt out of state.

How to Adopt a Dog from ARF
Animal Rescue of Fresno is a Volunteer Managed & Operated Dog Rescue.
We are available by Appointment Only.
Adoptions begin with an Approved Application.
You can find the application on our website at www.arf-fresno.com

Application can be found in the drop-down menu above, click "ADOPT"
Mobile users click three lines at top of page to see "ADOPT"
Business Hours: By Appointment Only

We will review each submitted application, then contact the approved adopter via email.
