Kato (sponsored fee)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kato came to MCHS in May 2025 as an owner surrender due to rental property restrictions. He's a German shepherd/pit bull mix who is now 3 years old, after being at our shelter for over a year. He's friendly, strong, and active. He's also really handsome! Just don't tell him that - we don't want it to go to his head. Kato has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee of $150 is sponsored by the business, "Exceptional Pet Waste Removal".

Kato has had some training and knows some basic commands. He does forget his manners sometimes as he's overwhelmed with enthusiastic affection. We do think he has the potential to do okay with a well mannered female dog. He should be okay with older kids. He has been nonchalant and non-reactive around cats. He's bright and eager to please and tries really hard to be a lap dog sometimes.

NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
