Kate's Story
Visitors are limited to approved applicants only. Please fill out an adoption application if you are interested in stopping by. We will be in touch once your application is approved to set up a visit.

Adopt: lighthouseanimalshelter.org/adopt
Foster: lighthouseanimalshelter.org/foster

---
Kate is a 2-year-old beagle/hound mix with a heart as big as her floppy ears—and energy to match! This girl is always ready for her next adventure, whether it’s running around the yard with her doggy friends or heading out for a fun walk.

Kate loves people and will happily soak up all the attention and affection you can give. Pets, ear scratches, and quality time are at the top of her list! She’s also quite the entertainer—Kate can stand up on her hind legs like a little performer, a trick that’s sure to make you smile every time (and yes, that smile of hers is just as irresistible in person). She already knows how to sit and is very treat-motivated, which should make continued training a fun and rewarding experience for both of you.

Kate is a social butterfly with other dogs and thrives during playtime, making her a great companion for a home with canine friends. With her playful spirit, she would do best with an active family who can keep up with her zest for life and give her plenty of exercise and enrichment.

After she’s had her fun, Kate is more than happy to relax and enjoy some pets and cuddles. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic, and fun-loving best friend, Kate is ready to meet you!
---

We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches.

Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $500 which covers the costs of vetting (spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventatives while in our care, deworming and microchip) and any boarding or transport fees incurred in each dog's rescue. Senior dogs are $250.
