Despite that, he still craves human attention and is ready to trade that life for couch time, cozy naps, and being part of a family indoors where he belongs. Kano is learning to walk on a leash and is doing well with potty training. He enjoys car rides, sits nicely in the vehicle, and would love to be your riding companion. So far, he appears to be dog-friendly, though he has not been tested with cats. Kano is ready to live his best life-indoors, loved, and cherished. Could you be his person?

Smith County Humane's Adoption Policy

Potential adopters complete an adoption application and go through a vetting process. Our coordinator speaks with them, asks questions regarding the potential pets living situation, we do a home visit or video call to assess the home. We also verify with their current vet that the pets they currently have are up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If approved, if there are other pets in the home, we do a meet and greet. Then we will finalize the adoption if all is approved by our coordinator.
