KANGA's Story

?? Meet Kanga! ?? Kanga is a stunning 2.5-year-old girl who is ready to find her forever home! This pretty pup came to our shelter as a stray, along with her two canine friends, Martin and Marina (who are also looking for loving families!). The trio was spotted roaming a neighborhood together for several weeks before finding safety with us. When Kanga first arrived, she was a little underweight, but her strong, muscular build quickly became apparent. But despite her tough exterior, she is a big softie at heart, and she’s looking for someone who can help her continue to thrive. Kanga is working on her leash manners—she’s strong and can be a bit of a puller, so she’ll need an adopter dedicated to leash training. Kanga is having a tough time in the shelter environment. The sights and sounds here are overwhelming for her, and she’s definitely feeling the stress. While we’re doing everything we can—providing enrichment activities and even some medications to help her cope—what Kanga really needs is a loving home where she can finally relax and be herself. She’s met other dogs at the shelter and tends to be vocal and enthusiastic during introductions. Kanga does best with more submissive dogs who are happy to let her take the lead, as seen with her buddies Martin and Marina. With slow, thoughtful introductions, she can be a great companion to the right canine pals. If you’re looking for an athletic, loving companion with plenty of personality, Kanga might be your perfect match! Come meet Kanga at our shelter (430 Bristol Dr., Statesville, NC) and see if she’s the one to complete your family. ??Kanga | A315554 ?? 2-years-old Spayed Female ? 57.0lbs ??????We always recommend meet-and-greets with resident dogs and children to ensure a great fit for everyone.
