Kane's Story

Hi, my name is Kane! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into most homes . Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Energetic, playful, goofy, social

-Can Live with Kids: Yes, should be fine with respectful, dog-savvy kids of most ages. Everyone will need to meet at the shelter first to ensure they're a good match!

-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - will need proper introductions to ensure everyone gets along. May be overwhelming for shy or senior kitties who prefer being left alone.

-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, so long as they're well matched in energy level and playstyle! Kane was surrendered to the shelter for being incompatible with the senior dog in his previous home.

-Can do Apartment Living: Could live in an apartment with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, although a home with a yard would be much preferred! Be sure to think longterm about your living arrangements and check with property management for any breed restrictions.

-Potty Trained: Working on it!

-Bite History: No

-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, a 6 week puppy course

-Energy Level: Medium

-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Neuter/microchip

-Additional Information: Kane is a bouncy, playful pup looking for a forever family to call his own! This adorable pittie mix was surrendered to the shelter for being too energetic for his previous family, specifically the resident senior dog. He really hopes his new family has the time, resources, and sense of humor to invest in him for the longhaul (10+ years!) Kane is reportedly crate trained and starting to get the hang of the potty-training thing. With no known behavioral concerns at time of arrival, Kane is a blank slate with tons of potential to be a 10/10 adventure buddy for many years to come!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
