Kane's Story

Kane’s story is heartbreaking, but he’s a true survivor. He was found abandoned in a stacked crate—left with no care, no kindness, and no chance. Thankfully, he and his housemate were rescued from the shelter and pulled to safety with us.

Now almost 3 years old, Kane has been with us for nearly a year. He’s currently in a foster home in Binghamton, NY, where he’s making steady progress—but his past trauma still lingers. He sometimes has accidents and can be a little quirky, likely due to the neglect he endured early in life. Kane needs an experienced, patient foster or adopter who understands that healing takes time and consistency.

Despite everything, Kane shines with love. He’s playful, toy-obsessed, treat-motivated, and knows his “sit.” His goofy, sweet personality brings joy to everyone who meets him. He does well with other dogs, cats, and older kids (15+), and he’s continuing to improve with housebreaking.

Kane is not a “bad dog”—he’s a brave soul who just needs someone willing to see his potential and help him thrive.

? Could you be the one to give Kane his forever chance?

All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.

Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.
Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England.

Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada.

Visit www.pmarinc.org for more information, and to fill out an application.
