Kaloni's Story

Kaloni was brought in with a puppy and sadly was never reclaimed. He's a friendly, energetic guy who clearly doesn't enjoy shelter life and is eager to get back to the comforts of a real home. While he came in with another dog, he hasn't been officially dog tested yet. Kaloni has done well indoors and may already be potty trained. He's still learning to walk politely on a leash but is improving with time and patience.<br/>Kaloni is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. He is heartworm negative and on prevention.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy

When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.

The mission of the Erath County Humane Society is to care for unwanted and lost animals, reunite lost animals with their owners and find homes for adoptable pets. We work closely with our community to decrease pet overpopulation and to provide a safe place for animals as they await their permanent homes.
