Kalley's Story

Eight puppies were born outside in a kennel during one of the coldest winters that North Carolina has seen...freezing temps and even more snow accumulation than ever....and then they were abandoned.

Our rescue, together with volunteers, took mom and the puppies to a foster experienced in newborns. Initially everything seemed hopeful. Mom worked tirelessly to feed her babies. Then, within days, the smallest puppy passed & in a matter of hours we lost three more of the puppies. The prognosis: insufficient milk intake or congenital defects because of that. This has been one of the toughest rescues we've faced. We put our whole hearts into every single life we save- and the loss of even one is traumatic.

But here's the good news.....six dogs are alive because they were not left outside in that snow. Four puppies who are thriving, happy and playful. Full of puppy mischief and joy! Their mom and the mom's sister!

We included pictures of mom to get an idea of breed, but we do not know the father. Most likely puppies will be around mom's size...medium under 55lbs.

Currently puppies are up to date on all age appropriate vaccines and de-worming and our adoption program for spaying when old enough will be implemented- required and covered by rescue.

There are two females, and two males. Kalley is our calmer female....sweet and gentle but still full of puppy fun! The puppies are doing well learning dog play and cuddling - a healthy time as litter mates learning social skills. They are so smart, well tempered and learning so well. With their foster, they are learning to engage with other dogs outside of the litter as well....all ages and sizes. These puppies will be ready for a home and family and to learn to be the best they can be!

If you are looking for a family puppy- look no further

Our Mission
Our rescue focus is on adult dogs from the southeast that are in high kill shelters. Our plan is to fully vet as needed, evaluate and train as needed in preparation for adoption. We place our rescues in a foster home setting to prepare our dogs for a home of their own and to determine the best match for that rescue.
