Kakarot 's Story

Hi, my name is Kakarot, and I’m a big, fluffy, cuddly gentleman with a whole lot of love to give. I’ve had a bit of a rocky journey—not because of anything I did, but because the people I trusted weren’t able to be my forever family. I first came to the shelter about five months ago and was quickly placed into what I thought was my forever home. Sadly, that didn’t work out, and I found myself back at the shelter after being kept mostly as an outside dog.

When I returned, my coat was dull and tangled, but the amazing staff took great care of me—brushing me out, removing burrs, and helping me feel like myself again. I’ve been back at the shelter for a little while now, and I’ll be honest: kennel life is hard for me. Being alone all the time makes me vocal, but that’s just because I thrive on companionship and attention.

The good news? I’ve shown everyone just how wonderful I can be in a home. I recently spent time with someone who gave me a bath and reported that I did great with both small and large dogs. I was well-behaved overnight in a crate, trustworthy when loose in the house, very housebroken, and I walk nicely on a leash. I even know some basic manners — I can sit and shake, especially if treats are involved!

I truly shine when I get time outside of my kennel, where my happy, affectionate personality comes through. I’m just a big, fluffy guy looking for a real forever home—one where I can be part of the family, loved, and included. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will soak up every bit of attention you give, I might be your perfect match. 🐾
