Kai sprinfield 's Story
Meet Kai — 7 Pounds of Sass with a Snuggle Upgrade!
Kai is a three-year-old Yorkiepoo who packs a whole lot of personality into his tiny 7-pound body. He’s full of spunk, charm, and confidence — truly a little guy who knows exactly what he wants… especially when it comes to attention and cuddles!
Kai is kennel trained and currently potty pad trained, but he’s been learning to go outside and is doing well so far. He walks nicely on a leash and absolutely loves playing with his toys. When playtime is over, Kai is more than happy to be picked up, held, and snuggled — being close to his person is one of his favorite things.
Because of his small size, Kai would do best in a home with older kids or adults who understand how fragile little dogs can be. He can coexist with other dogs but prefers that they not be in his face. We believe this comes from being easily intimidated due to his size. A calm, independent dog — or even a cat — could be a good fit, but Kai would also thrive as an only pet where he can soak up all the love.
Kai does not shed, which is a huge bonus — however, he does not enjoy grooming at all. We’re currently working through this with him. Some of it appears to be anxiety, and some learned behavior from getting his way when he pitched a fit in the past. Until he becomes more comfortable, Kai will likely require sedated groomings to safely maintain his coat.
Kai came to us because his previous owner worked long hours, and he wasn’t getting the attention and companionship he truly needs. This little guy craves love, connection, and someone who has the time to make him feel important — because to Kai, he absolutely is.
Kai will come with a collar, leash, toy, two food bowls, some food, and a copy of all his medical and microchip information. His tax-deductible adoption fee is $600, which includes his neuter, all vaccines, heartworm test and treatment, and microchip.
To apply, please email onceuponaprayerrescue@gmail.com with the subject line Kai for an auto-response with the application.
