Kai (Pogho)

Hi! I'm Kai, better known as Pohgo....yep, like a pogo stick! And once you meet me, you'll understand exactly why. I'm an all or nothing kind of puppy. When my eyes open I'm at 200% enthusiasm, bouncing through life with my whole heart. I don't do "halfway" I do everything with passion, curiosity, and joy.<br/><br/>Because I'm such a high energy, big feelings kind of guy, I'm learning that slowing down, using gentle manners, and making good choices brings really great things my way. I'm staying with a professional dog trainer right now (apparently that's a big deal ), and she's helping me build the foundation I'll need to grow into the amazing dog I'm meant to be. We're working on things like crate training, potty training, leash introductions, tethering, and something called luring - which I've been told will help my future person teach me cool skills like sit, down, and come.<br/><br/>I've got a lot of drive and a whole lot of energy, so I'll do best with someone who understands active, intelligent pups like me and wants a dog that can keep up with an adventurous lifestyle. I'm friendly with other dogs, cats, and people, but because I'm still learning how to control my body (remember the pogo stick part?), I'd be happiest in a home with older children so no one gets accidentally bowled over by my excitement.<br/><br/>I may be young, but I'm brave! I love problem solving and tackling obstacles - climbing, crawling under, going over, or finding my own creative route around them. And since I'm still a baby, I explore the world with my mouth. Everything is very interesting, especially toys that move, crinkle, or make noise (those are the best). Having lots of appropriate toys around really helps me make good choices.<br/><br/>I should probably warn you....I'm a talker. I like to chat while I eat, while I play, and sometimes just because I have thoughts to share. I might sound a little dramatic, but I promise I'm all barky commentary and zero meanness. Deep down, I'm a gentle soul who absolutely loves to snuggle once I've gotten my wiggles out.<br/><br/>Right now, I'm also learning that it's okay to be contained and that humans leaving the room isn't the end of the world. Pens, crates, being held still, and tethers are all part of my education, and I'm making progress every day. With consistency and patience, this will only get easier for me.<br/><br/>The trainer I live with says my future family won't be starting from scratch, they'll get a preparation package with my daily schedule, what I'm working on, my strengths, my challenges, my favorite things, and the tools that help me succeed. She knows me really well (maybe even better than I know myself), so if you have questions, she's the one to ask.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a smart, bold, affectionate puppy with a big personality and even bigger potential - and you're excited about helping shape that energy into something incredible - I might just be your guy.
