Kai's Story

Meet Kai!

Positives: Kai is a big boy who loves to have a good time. He’s a sweetheart who loves hanging out on his bed and enjoys his independence. He can be affectionate, jumps on the couch with you and will try to cuddle in your lap. We have seen him living with other dogs and he has done well with most. We find he does better with less dominant males and females. He would do fine being either an only dog in the home or second pup to a well matched companion. He would make a great outdoor activity partner and could do well on big adventure hikes. We have not seen any resource guarding or food aggression from him at this time.

Things he needs support on: Kai has a rougher style of play which not all dogs enjoy. We do find that Kai can be reactive dominant male dogs and does better with less dominant males or females. He is a bit of a leash puller and will need someone to work with him on that. He would need an owner who can give him time to decompress and settle into his new environment. He will need to learn to trust his new owner and go to a home who can provide him both the mental and physical stimulation he would need to thrive.

Location: Langley, BC
Age: approximately 3 years old
Size: 75lbs
Gender: Male
Vaccinations and spay/neuter: Vaccinations are UTD and he is neutered.
Potty trained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
Kid friendly: Yes but would do best with older kids due to his size and rougher style of play.
Dog friendly: Yes
Cat friendly: No
Energy level: Medium
Drive: He does appear to have a prey drive and needs a home without small animals.
