Juno's Story

Hi Friends, I'm Juno! Sometimes the shelter staff call me Jumping June, June Bug, or Junie B! Call me whatever, just don't call me late for dinner or treats!

A little about me, I am a medium/large mixed breed girl, weighing in at about 50lbs. I am roughly 3.5 years old. I've been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and I'm up to date on my heartworm testing! I'm so ready to find my furever home! A little about me and my past. My sisters and I came to AVAS after our owner fell on some hard times, and made the shelter aware that our life before here may not have been very kind to us. I am kind of like a turtle that my worries just roll off my back and I forget about it with a good butt wiggle.

Because my past was less than ideal, I'm in need of a dedicated human that will work with me on some basic training skills. The shelter team says I do a great job at keeping my kennel clean, and in a home setting with some boundaries I'd likely potty train quickly. I should also tell you that I'm a professional cuddler. Once I settle down and get my zoomies out, I love a good snuggle with humans, and I'm very loving. I might do well living with another dog, as long as I get to meet them first, but I don't think I could live with those things that meow - I have a bit of a high prey drive. At the shelter I'm working on getting better at walking calmly on a leash, learning not to jump up, and how to play with my friends appropriately - sometimes I get a little too rough. Those items being mentioned, I'd likely do better in a home without small children as I might risk knocking them over. My previous owner said I was exposed to life with kids, and I did really well, but I'm not sure if living with little ones full time would be the best for everyone.

When I'm not outside chasing butterflies or playing with my sister, I'd love to meet you. You can stop by the shelter Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm to hang out with me and see if we'd be a good fit. If you have questions about me, please reach out to the shelter by emailing AVASCares2@gmail.com or by phone at 989-348-4117. Hope to see you soon!
