Juno (Coming Soon!)'s Story
Juno – COMING SOON!

This Lab is currently in a foster home, which is CILRA’s standard practice and allows us to learn more about the Lab before they are officially ready for adoption. It gives us time to evaluate the Lab’s personality, bring them up-to-date on vaccinations, and have them spayed/neutered if needed. If you are interested in this Lab, please keep checking the website for status updates or send an email of interest to adoptionteam@cilra.org.

Some dogs make themselves at home the moment they arrive — and Juno is one of those special souls.

Juno is a one-year-old black Lab mix, about 50 pounds, with a gentle heart and an affectionate nature that shines through in everything she does. She adores being with her people and has a wonderful way of making you feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be — right beside her.

She loves to play, especially tug-of-war and fetch, and she truly enjoys the company of other dogs. But when the excitement fades, Juno’s favorite place is close to you. If you sit down for a quiet moment or stretch out for an afternoon nap, chances are she’ll softly settle in right next to you, happy just to be near. She is, without question, a true sweetheart and an expert snuggler.

Juno is wonderful with children and is very gentle with them, making her an easy fit for a family home. She walks nicely on a leash most of the time, though her curiosity can occasionally get the best of her — after all, the world is still new and exciting. She’s a bright young pup who is already learning good manners like sitting before meals, staying, and keeping her paws on the floor.

She’s crate-trained and chooses her crate when she needs a little downtime. Juno is housebroken and is even learning to ring a bell to let you know when she’d like to go outside — a small detail that perfectly reflects her intelligence and eagerness to communicate. She rides comfortably in the car and often curls up for a nap as the miles go by.

Like a true Lab, Juno has a soft mouth and loves carrying a toy wherever she goes, as if it’s her most prized possession. Chewing on sturdy rubber toys and antlers is one of her favorite quiet activities. In her foster home, she’s been exposed to sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, and cats — and while she’s curious, she’s respectful and leaves them alone.

Juno is scheduled to be spayed soon and will be ready to begin her next chapter with a forever family shortly thereafter.

Juno is the kind of dog who gently works her way into your heart without asking for much in return — just love, consistency, and a place to belong. She’s going to make some very lucky family incredibly happy.

*******
Adopting a Lab can be a wonderful experience. Your new dog will need lots of love, adequate exercise and attention. Keep in mind that dog ownership may include additional costs for training, grooming, and health care beyond annual vaccines and monthly preventatives. It’s a lifetime commitment!
