1. What is your name? Juniper but my foster family loves nicknames so I am usually called “June, Junie, Junie Boonie, Boonie, June Bug” the crazy thing is that I respond to all of them. Haha.<br/> <br/> <br/>2. How old are you? 1 ½ years old<br/>?<br/> <br/>3. What do you look like? Boy, I am cute if I do say so myself. I am a gray short stack with a white chest & nose and cropped ears. My foster family says that I am so soft and my coat feels like velvet.<br/> <br/> <br/>4. What do you like to eat? Everything, I am not picky at all and so far I do not have any food allergies.<br/> <br/> <br/>5. What kind of personality do you have? I am so silly, I like to be a clown and make people laugh. I love people and I love to cuddle. I have a lot of energy and some puppy behaviors, but I am learning. I love children, whenever I go on outings if I see a child I want them to pet me so badly and when they do my tail doesn’t stop wagging and I smile, people laugh and say “she is smiling”. My foster family thinks I would be great with children of all ages.<br/> <br/> <br/>6. Describe your perfect day? I wake my family up at 6:00 am everyday for a potty break and breakfast. After breakfast I get to climb into bed with my foster human sister and take a morning nap. This is my favorite time of the day, I cuddle right next to her and start to snore. After my morning nap I get to play in the backyard with my ball and rope toys. I love to jump and can jump really high; I hop around the back yard and get the zoomies.<br/> <br/>7. What is your favorite toy? I love balls, I love for you to throw them but I don’t usually bring them back. I also love any tug toy.<br/> <br/> <br/>8. Do you know any tricks? I know sit and lay down, I am working on stay and really getting the hang of it.<br/>?<br/> <br/>9. What scares you? When I first came to live with my foster family, I was very scared of steps. I wanted to be brave but man those things are intimidating when you have little legs like mine. My foster family worked with me and now I zoom up and down them with no problem. I am a very confident dog, and nothing scares or bothers me.<br/> <br/> <br/>10. Do you like cats? I have never met a cat, I really love all dogs…big and small, I might do ok with a cat with proper introductions.<br/> <br/> <br/>11. Do you have any doggie best friends? Yes! I am glad you asked. My best friend is Jasper, my foster brother. He is 10 and sometimes I can be a little too energetic for him, but he has a lot of patience with me and my play style. He lets me snuggle up next to him, which is my favorite and he helped me learn that stairs are not scary. I have met my neighbors’ dog too and I love him, he has a similar play style to what I have.<br/>?<br/> <br/>12. If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? With people and even better if there is another energetic dog around. I love life, I am always happy and ready to play or snuggle.<br/> <br/> <br/>13. How is your health? When my foster family first brought me home, I had some problems with my eyes. Even Chance got an appointment for me to meet a dog ophthalmologist and luckily it was not a serious problem. I have dry eyes, and I need to take drops in both eyes twice a day. The Doctor thinks it is a temporary issue, and I won’t have to stay on the drops forever. I also had a bad UTI but that is getting better too. Other than that, I am very healthy.<br/> <br/> <br/>14. How long have you lived in your foster home? I have been with my foster family since June of 2025.<br/> <br/> <br/>15. Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my foster mom, dad and their 20-year-old daughter, I love her the most. She is very patient with me and is my favorite person to snuggle with. I take my snuggling very seriously.<br/> <br/> <br/>16. Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I hang out in my kennel, during the day my family will give me a kong with peanut butter, I have FOMO and having that distraction helps.<br/> <br/> <br/>17. Where do you sleep? I sleep in my kennel at night, I whine for a few minutes but after that I don’t make another peep until the 6:00 am wake up call for my foster family.<br/>?<br/> <br/>18. What do you love about your foster family? I love how patient they are with me, I have a lot of puppy behavior, and they are teaching me appropriate behaviors. They take me on outings and walks and snuggle me, I love all of those things.<br/> <br/> <br/>19. What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents? I was found as a stray by St. Louis County Animal Control, and I was at the shelter for 3 months.<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they spend time in our homes. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog.
