Junior's Story
We’ve added “gentle giant” to our rescue résumé as Junior is basically a pony-sized doodle (70 pounds of curly sweetness). Junior came to us from a local surrender.

At 4 years old, Junior is a big, sensitive soul who’s learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. He bonded instantly to his foster dad and is a total shadow at home, though he can be a little wary of some men at first. Once you’re in his circle, you’re his person.

Junior is house trained, trustworthy when left loose in the house, and absolutely adores his dog bed. Junior loves to play fetch with his special football shaped toy he brought with him. Grooming isn’t his favorite activity, but it’s probably because he was so matted and sore when he came to us. Junior had several sores under his coat and his testicles were actually stuck to his leg from mats when we took him in. Please keep in mind doodles require professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to prevent painful matting.

Junior would do best in a home with a fence, so he can explore and sniff the world safely. His previous family said he’s dog friendly, but we’ll want to do a meet and greet to make sure it’s a good match. He has not been around cats so a home without cats would be best. We are recommending older, respectful kids only.

Junior’s the kind of dog who will lean into you for comfort, make you laugh with his goofy size, and melt your heart with his gentle eyes. He’s ready to find his forever person.

Junior is neutered, current on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. To meet Junior, please submit an application at
www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
