Junie B's Story

Meet sweet Junie B. Just as cute as she can be!

Junie came to us after being rescued just a few hours before being euthanized at a high kill shelter near Atlanta. Unfortunately, she tested positive for heartworm (not a surprise being a stray in GA) but has completed her second round of treatment with very little side effects. Heartworm is not contagious and will not affect other animals. She will need to be kept from running or rambunctious play until she has been given the all clear by our vet.
Junie is a complete love bug and loves to be with her humans. She gets along well with other dogs and is curious about our cats, but has never attempted to hurt one (maybe if a cat ran, she would chase). She has not been around children as yet.

Junie is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. She is UTD on vaccinations, has been microchipped, but will need to wait until January, when she is retested for heartworm with hopefully negative results before she can be spayed. She is crate trained, housebroken, goes potty on the leash, knows sit and short stay, good with baths and car rides. We are working on leash manners because she wants to go go go. Places to go and people to meet!

And she is beautiful. Those amber eyes stare into your soul. Her coat is a gorgeous shiny tan, her legs are freckled, and her tail is always wagging when you are nearby. We have no clue as to what regal creatures her parents may have been.
