Junie's Story
Junie is a 4 year old Pitbull mix girl with pretty brindle coloring. She originally tested positive for heartworms which is no surprise since she had probably never seen a vet before...but as of July 22nd, 2025, she has completed her heartworm treatment, has tested negative, and is now CURED!!!

Junie is one of the happiest dogs you will ever meet! She ALWAYS has a smile on her face and is excited for every part of every day. Junie was rescued when she was found sitting in the middle of the road. Her rescuer pulled her car over and she jumped right in. Her ribs and backbone were showing and we had to start her off with small meals as she devoured her food very quickly.

Junie (aka June Bug) has been at PPC for OVER A YEAR. We can not imagine what Junie went through before joining us. We believe she experienced a rough beginning, with minimal necessities. Due to this, Junie tends to resource guard her belongings. Since Junie went without these things, she now loves playing fetch or tug of war. Going after tennis balls is truly one of her favorite things to do.

Junie also LOVES going on walks, either by herself or with her friends! She gets excited on walks and will often roll around in the grass. When Junie returns from adventures, she is often resistant to going back inside as she wishes her time away from the shelter lasted much longer. Junie is looking for someone who will love her as much as she loves her adventures!

Junie will always sit pretty for treats...we have yet to find a kind she won't eat. Junie loves to be the center of attention and would thrive being an only child in the home. Due to resource guarding, we recommend a home without kids. She would still love to have dog friends to walk and play with and reward you with her winning smile.

We cannot overstate the importance of heartworm preventive. Giving your dogs monthly preventive is THE BEST way to defend against heartworms.

We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but are doing meet & greets and adoptions by appointment only.

The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter.

If you are interested in this pet, please fill out our ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://bit.ly/3HN4Tqq

Visit our website at www.PetPlacementCenter.com
