WICKED SMART*DRIVEN TO PLEASE*DROP DEAD GORGEOUS<br/><br/>This dog is seriously, a trainers, dream come true. <br/><br/>For what this dog endured during the first eight months of his life, he should be withdrawn, hate people and be afraid of the world, but nothing could be further from the truth. This is a testament to his huge heart and his rock solid mind.<br/><br/>Juneau was purchased as an eight week old puppy, by people in Portland OR who were completely lacking in dog ownership skills and commitment. They lived in a third story apartment and when the reality of having a puppy in the home while living three stories up set in, they kicked Juneau out onto their lanai and that is where he lived for the next eight months of his life. Three stories off the ground on a five foot square postage stamp of concrete, <br/><br/>Thanks to Portland area All Mutts adopters who lived in this same area, we were able to bring Juneau into our organization after Portland Animal Control had finally fielded enough complaints from neighboring apartment dwellers, about Juneau's poor living conditions and complete absence of humane housing.<br/><br/>When he arrived we were expecting a withdrawn and fearful animal but nothing could have been further from the truth and Juneau has continued to impress us with his mind, his temperament and his ability to adapt and learn.<br/><br/>Juneau is now a handsome 18 month old fellow who is simply amazing. He has an incredible drive to please and is toy, treat and praise driven, which makes training ridiculously simple. He has the energy to go all day, if you need him too but can just as easily lay at your feet all day, if that is what the day calls for. He has grown into an impressive but not overwheming size that will halt unwanted advances of strangers and provide a sense of security, if that is part of what you are looking for. He is very intuitive to what his person is thinking and feeling and his foster says, sometimes knows what she is going to do, before she even does it. Consequently, he is not a good dog for the weak minded or those who struggle with setting and enforcing boundaries. He needs to know the rules so he can stay within them, and he needs his person to be his leader, capable of calling the shots and providing consistent direction. This is where he thrives.<br/><br/>In return for being a reliable leader and mentor, you get a dog who does great with other dogs, is great with cats, has been around and does great with horses, travels well, has good leash manners, great off leash recall, drops into a sit when asked, like life depended on it, is crate trained, house broken, not a nuisance barker, ready for adventure, knows the wait, break and leave it commands, can entertain himself with healthy toys for hours, is gorgeous, impressively built and has the heart of a giant.<br/><br/>If this sounds like the dog you have been searching for, go to our website at www.allmuttsgreatandsmall.org/adoption and shoot us a completed online application.
