JUNE BUG's Story

In the shelter June Bug is a ball of excitement. We can see why people are hesitant to meet her. Once away from the hectic shelter environment, she shows off her perfection. She is great in the car. She has done well with dogs we've paired her with at the shelter. She’s so loving, respectful on her leash, loves to play and knows a few commands. With her energy level & ability to keep going, she would also make a wonderful hiking partner or running companion however she also knows when it’s time to settle. We haven't seen her with cats but she's done well with the kids who have met her at the shelter.

Peoria Animal Welfare Shelter's Adoption Policy

Thank you for your interest in adopting with us. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have made some changes to the adoption process. When you find the animal, you are interested in, we will send you an application that will need to be approved before you meet the animal. Once you are approved, we will schedule an appointment time to visit with the animal. Most animals will be able to go home the day you meet them, if not within 24 hours. All our animals will have their first round of vaccines including rabies (if old enough). They will be spayed or neutered and microchipped before going home.
