June's Story
June is a 1-year-old Border Collie mix who came to our shelter after her owner was moving and felt she wasn’t the right fit for working cattle. While we don’t know her full story, we do know that June is a resilient, loving girl with so much to offer.

Her previous owner reported that she had hip surgery, and X-rays confirmed that June previously had an FHO (femoral head and neck osteotomy). This procedure does not slow her down—June is active, happy, and currently working on rebuilding muscle in her hind leg. She continues to gain strength every day.

June appears to be house trained, gets along well with other dogs, and has been a joy to work with. While her owner mentioned food aggression when she arrived with another dog, we believe that behavior likely came from the other dog, as June arrived quite thin and began gaining weight immediately once separated. We have not seen food aggression from June.

She knows sit, down, and stay, and she is incredibly sweet and people-friendly, enjoying everyone she’s met so far.

June is now spayed and up to date on vaccines, and she’s ready for a home that will appreciate her intelligence, gentle nature, and determination.

If you’re looking for a smart, loving companion who doesn’t let anything hold her back, June may be the perfect match
