June's Story

Joyless June... Yes we said what we said...
Anyways meet JUNE! at 2yrs old & 29lbs June is not impressed.

Not by strangers. Not by cameras. Not by your attempts to get her to smile for adoption photos.

June has mastered the art of the resting b!tC*h face. If you've ever wondered what a dog would look like if she were quietly judging every decision being made around her, June has your answer.

The funny thing is that she's actually a very nice dog.

June grew up at the shelter with her brother, River. Neither of them ever knew a home. While River tends to jump into life headfirst, June likes to observe first and make sure nobody is doing anything ridiculous, then most likely still walk away.

She enjoys other dogs, playgroups, walks, and spending time outside. She's social, playful, and perfectly happy hanging out with canine friends.

Humans, however, need to earn their place. Not because she's mean. Not because she's difficult. Because June is thoughtful.

She's the type of dog who forms real bonds instead of throwing herself at every stranger who walks by. And we think that makes her pretty special.

The happiest we've ever seen June has almost always involved another dog. Give her a canine friend and suddenly life gets a lot more exciting.

Give her a camera and she immediately looks like she's reviewing your performance evaluation.

June is fully vetted, dog & cat friendly. We assume she will be just fine with kids (she won't go near them probably) She is beautiful, smart, walks great on leash, very clean and ready for a home that understands that not every good dog needs to be the life of the party. She also knows her daily routine at the shelter.

Some dogs smile with their mouths.

June smiles with her attendance.
