Julieta's Story
~ A STORY OF RESILIENCE, HEARTBREAK AND HOPE ~
Julieta was just a puppy when she was abandoned on the streets with her mother and four siblings, left to fend for themselves with no food and the constant danger of passing cars. When they arrived at the city shelter, they were dirty, undernourished, and covered in fleas and ticks. Tragically, Julieta’s siblings didn’t survive—but she held on, finding comfort in the presence of her mother. For a long time, a cage at the shelter was all Julieta knew. It wasn’t much, but at least she had her mom by her side. Then suddenly, everything changed again. Her mother was adopted, leaving Julieta alone for the first time in her life. The world, already unfamiliar and scary, became even harder to navigate. Socializing was difficult for her and Norma knew that Julieta needed to get out of the shelter to have a chance at a new life. She found a foster home for her and things started to improve. She got to experience life outside of a cage and has learned, step by step, what love, and safety feel like.

Julieta is a beautiful black & white mixed breed dog. She is about 3 years old and weighs 19 kilos.

Julieta may have had a tough start in life, but beneath her shyness is a heart full of love just waiting to shine. She is sweet and affectionate, forming strong bonds with those who show patience and kindness. She gets along well with adults and teenagers and is friendly with children. On her daily walks, she enjoys interacting with other dogs and watches cats with curiosity, never aggression. The world can still feel overwhelming to her at times. Loud noises and heavy traffic make her nervous, but with gentle reassurance, she is learning to feel safe. Having spent so much of her life without stability, she can be protective of her food, toys, and sleeping area. It’s not aggression, it is simply a habit from a life where she had to hold on to what was hers. With love and structure, she will continue to grow. Julieta is searching for a family who will give her the time she needs to adjust, someone who will show her that love doesn’t have to come with fear. Please help Julieta to find her family by sharing her album.

Julieta’s adoption fee is $550, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting.
