JOY 's Story

Oh, sweet Joy. 💔

Meet Joy, a young female Chow mix whose life hasn’t been easy. Before rescue, she survived on her own—running loose and traveling up to a 60-mile radius, somehow always finding her way back. Sixty miles. Alone. If that doesn’t tell you how intelligent and resilient she is, nothing will.

For a long time, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan worked patiently to earn her trust and safely bring her in. That same angel is now fostering her, giving her something she likely never had before—consistency, safety, and gentle love.

Joy is still learning that she doesn’t have to survive anymore. She’s just beginning to step into the room on her own. She’ll softly take baby food from her foster’s fingers. She isn’t ready for petting yet, and that’s okay—no one is rushing her. Trust takes time when the world hasn’t been kind.

She isn’t leash trained yet but will quietly go in and out to a small fenced yard. She shows no aggression at all—just a cautious heart that needs patience. Joy will need a quiet, chow-savvy home with a securely fenced yard and someone willing to move at her pace.

In just a few short weeks, she has already made beautiful progress. Imagine who she’ll be in a few months with the right person by her side. Underneath that cautious exterior is a brilliant, loyal soul waiting to feel safe enough to love fully.

Joy has seen the vet and is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed, and crate trained. She is also great with cats and is curious about other dogs.

If you feel called to give this deserving girl the peaceful life she’s never known, please complete an adoption application at:
www.fabsrescue.com/applications

Let’s help Joy’s next chapter be the one where she finally gets to rest. 🖤
