Joy!'s Story
Would you give a sweet olde gal a chance?

Animal Control named her Joy.
From the pictures you can see why!

When she first came in as a stray it was thought she was pregnant or recently had a litter.
The honest truth is it looks like she stayed barefoot & pregnant for a good part of her life, like she's previously been a mom several times. This saddens us to see the wear on her body from preventable litters.

We're praying someone offers her a home. One that will accept an older hound who still had a lot of life in her, one that will enjoy her smiles and goofy Hound personality.

Joy is definitely food motivated, she'll sit on a dime if she thinks there's a snack or treat in your hand.
She's actually pretty good at convincing you to relinquish a treat with her charming ways.

Joy is maybe 5 or 6+ looking at her teeth. approx. 80 pounds.

She was posted multiple times after being rescued from the middle of the road by a Good Samaritan for her family or owner to see & reach out but sadly no one came looking for her.
Was she randomly dropped in this area or neighborhood?
Why does no one recognize her at all after so many "found" posts? she was shared far & wide.
she's was wearing a collar so someone cared at one time yet no chip or ID tags..

She's mostly white with her red speckled ears.
She knows she's not going to catch everyone's eye that walks through but we see real potential in her.
Her loving demeanor.

She LOVED meeting other dogs & was nice with the cats too!

We are hopeful someone will see her beauty and contagious smile and offer her a warm place to land and never ever give birth to one more baby!

VIDEO on our Facebook page.

apply here:
www.amherstanimalshelter.org/adopt
