Black dogs are often overlooked in shelters and rescues, not because we’re less loving or less worthy, but because we’re harder to photograph, harder to “see” online, and somehow we blend into the background. I’ve been in that background before. I’m asking you to look a little longer. Because once you do, you might realize I’m exactly what you’ve been hoping to find.<br/><br/>Here’s what life with me looks like:<br/> • I’m housebroken and respectful in the home.<br/> • I’m nondestructive. I don’t look for trouble or try to redecorate.<br/> • I’m fully vetted, heartworm negative, and current on prevention.<br/> • I’m protective of my family, and I take my job seriously.<br/><br/>And here’s what I need to be successful:<br/> • I need to be the only animal in the home. I want my people all to myself, and I do best when I’m not asked to share my space with other pets.<br/> • I do well with kids and humans, especially once I know and trust them.
