She has bravely navigated multiple surgeries to improve her mobility and quality of life. While she moves a bit differently than other dogs, her spirit is unstoppable. Because of her front paws, a home without significant stairs is essential to keep her comfortable and safe.<br/><br/>Her Personality<br/>Journey is the definition of sweet and mellow. She has a magical way of adjusting her energy to match the people around her. Whether you want to relax on a quiet afternoon or head out for a sunset stroll, Journey is right there with you.<br/><br/>While she can be a little shy when meeting new four-legged friends, she is generally calm and polite. At home, she is a world-class cuddler who thrives on affection and human connection. She is currently living with a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old and does wonderfully with them. We believe she would be a perfect match for a family with children or even a senior adopter who enjoys daily walks.<br/><br/>Life at Home<br/>• Nap Time: She is a lady of comfort and enjoys rotating between her two favorite beds in the living room and the master bedroom.<br/>• Walking: She absolutely loves her walks! She is leash-trained and views every outing as a grand adventure.<br/>• Let’s Talk: Journey is a typical Klee Kai in one way—she likes to talk! She gets vocal when she is excited to go for her walks or when meeting new visitors at home. She may need a few gentle reminders to settle down, but it is all part of her charming personality.<br/>• House Training: Journey is fully housetrained however she is currently home alone for 10-12 hours and has been having accidents. She will be spending a couple of weeks with a trainer before she goes to her adopter, to re-establish a consistent routine for her. <br/><br/>The Ideal Match<br/>Journey is looking for a family that has plenty of time to engage with her. Her perfect home would have a yard or an enclosed area where she can easily go outside. Most importantly, she needs a family that sees past her "special" paws and sees the incredible, loving, and loyal dog she is. She would do well as an only dog in her home, or in a home with a senior slower dog. <br/><br/>A Difficult Goodbye<br/>Journey is currently looking for a new family due to an unfortunate change in her current home life. She is deeply bonded to the children she lives with, and her current family cares for her so much that they recognize she needs more time and companionship than they can now offer. With their schedules changing, she is left alone for 10-12 hours a day, which is simply not the kind of life this sweet, social girl deserves. This was an incredibly difficult decision for them, made solely because they want what is best for Journey.<br/><br/>Journey has traveled a long road to find you.
