Journey's Story

Journey is about 3 years old. We believe her to be a Malinois/Shepherd mix. She was a stray that was picked up by animal control. She was absolutely terrified in the shelter and was totally shutting down. The shelter requested rescue help to get this poor girl to a less stressful environment, where she could decompress and gain some confidence.

Journey was absolutely terrified at first and wouldn’t even walk on a leash. With a lot of patience and encouragement, she slowly started to come out of her shell. She now realizes the leash is a good thing because it gets her outside and takes her on new adventures. She is actually very good on a leash, except she is still be a bit skittish if something scary goes by. Journey absolutely loves playing with the other dogs and they really helped her gain confidence and learn how to trust again.

Journey will be nervous and a bit skittish when meeting new people so she will need a little time and patience. She really likes going on walks now and bonds quickly with whoever is on the other end of the leash. We would like her to go to a home with another playful dog. Unfortunately, she does not do well with cats.

Journey is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, HW checked and microchipped. She is current on heartworm/flea tick preventative.

For more information, please contact tamjov9@aol.com. Please do not call or text.
