Joss Stone's Story

Dog Name: Joss Stone

Breed: Goldendoodle

Sex: female

Age: 1.5 years

Weight: Around 30 lbs

Medical Needs: Needs to be spayed. Must keep spay appt per GRR contract.

Housebroken: Yes as long as she is kept on a schedule. As soon as she comes out of her crate she needs to immediately go outside otherwise she gets so excited to see her people that she may have a tiny accident out of excitement.

Crate trained: Yes. A tiny bit of whining when she first goes in but settles quickly.

Good in the car: Wants to come up front initially but settles quickly for the ride.

Good on a leash: Yes. She will walk with you without pulling. If you stop, she will literally walk circles around you probably for comfort.

Energy level: Medium. Paces for comfort but will also sit with you on the couch if you want too. She is quickly learning that her happiness isn't going anywhere and it's ok to lay and relax.

Need a fenced in yard: No, but what dog wouldn't love the option. She loves to run and explore our fenced area.

Dog Friendly: Yes, she loves the two resident dogs and cuddles with the one.

If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, but she does find comfort in one of the resident dogs so I'm sure it would be a plus.

Cat Friendly: Unknown. There are no resident cats.

Kid Friendly: She is still easily startled so a child old enough to understand her needs would be best. She does great with the 12 year old in the home.

If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend? Maybe 8-10 since sudden bursts are hard to avoid with little ones.

Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Joss is learning to love the world for what it should be. Each and every day she is coming out of her shell more and will love you just as much as you love her if not more. She is excited to find her forever home and fully bloom.

Fosters Location: Smyrna, DE

Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app
