Josie's Story
Meet Josie!
Josie’s story is one of resilience and hope. She entered a rural shelter as a tiny 3-month-old puppy, battling parvo—a deadly virus that many don’t survive. But Josie did. She grew healthy and strong, but instead of enjoying the carefree days of puppyhood, she spent the next 9 months living in an outdoor kennel, waiting for someone to notice her.
When we met Josie, we saw a sweet soul longing for love but unsure how to ask for it. We knew she deserved more than a kennel, so we brought her into our bridge program—a safe place where she could finally start to experience comfort and care while she waits for a foster (or better yet, an adopter!) to open their home.
Josie is beginning to blossom. She loves her crate (her little safe haven) but is learning to come out for attention, walks, and treats. She even enjoys her leash walks now! She gets along well with other dogs, and though she’s still timid, we know her confidence will continue to grow when she finally has a home to call her own.
This petite beagle mix is just over a year old, full grown at about 35 pounds, and fully vetted, heartworm negative, and ready to begin the life she’s always deserved. With endless love, treats, and gentle encouragement, Josie will reward her family with a lifetime of devotion.

If interested in adopting (or fostering) Josie, please apply on our website:

BridgeBetweenAnimalRescue.org/adopt
