Joshua (Deaf)'s Story
Meet Joshua. With his cloud-soft white fur and piercing blue eyes, he is a head-turner, but his journey hasn't been easy. Joshua was returned to a high-kill shelter three times and placed on the euthanasia list because he was labeled "hyper." In reality, Joshua is deaf, and he was simply waiting for someone to speak his language.

Since entering foster care, Joshua has flourished. He has mastered "sit," learned to relax quietly in his crate, and proven to be a total sweetheart. He is wonderful with other dogs and has been a gentle companion to our 3-year-old son.

Joshua will come with his specialized training collar, which has been the "key" to his success, allowing him to understand commands perfectly. To set him up for a lifetime of success, adopters in Auglaize or Mercer County will receive a FREE training session with a specialist who has 15 years of experience with deaf dogs.

Joshua experiences the world a little differently, and he’s looking for someone to share that journey with. Could his search finally be over with you?

6 months old
Fully vaccinated

He has cute webbed feet- we believe he has some Labrador in him.

Joshua will need someone patient to continue to help him with his house-training.
