JOPLIN $425's Story
Meet Joplin!
This gorgeous girl is about 1.5 years old and is a spayed female Oklahoma Special, likely with some Catahoula in her mix, though she’s on the smaller side for the breed at about 48 pounds. One of her most striking features is her stunning ice-blue and marbled eyes that make her look both soulful and captivating.

Joplin was found as a stray, and unfortunately, no one came for her. But she’s not looking back — she’s thriving in her foster home. She loves playing with the other dogs, politely checking out the cats, and soaking up couch cuddles with the teenagers.

Her temperament is wonderfully easygoing. She meets new dogs with confidence, listens well, and already has a solid “Here!”

Joplin has also shown she doesn’t really need a crate. She’s been completely trustworthy when left out, settling in and behaving beautifully while her people are away. She’s not a fan of being confined and would much rather snooze on the couch or watch out the window, and she’s proven she can do that responsibly.

Joplin has a playful side, too. She loves toys and is quick to find the squeaker in soft ones, but give her an antler or sturdy chew, and she’ll happily stay busy for hours. She’s great at matching the energy of the household — if another dog wants to play, she’s ready; if it’s time for a walk, she’s right there; if you want to relax, she’ll curl up with a bone and chill.

Affection is her love language. She’ll roll over for belly rubs, lean in for pets, and rest her head in your lap like she’s known you forever.

Joplin is adaptable, affectionate, and an absolute joy to live with. She’s ready to bring love, fun, and companionship to a lucky family who will adore her.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
