JONA's Story

JONA – Kennel Card: 01282025J-D1

Jona is only 1 year old… but he’s already been through more than most dogs ever should.

This 52-pound Border Collie / Husky mix was found tied to a tree with a short leash, left alone in a backyard surrounded by trash and filth. No comfort. No kindness. Just neglect. The person responsible denied he was even theirs.

And yet… Jona is still full of love.

When Animal Control found him, he didn’t growl or shut down—he leaned in for affection. He chose trust, even after everything he had been through.

Since arriving at the shelter on January 28, 2025, Jona has shown everyone who meets him just how special he is. He’s been tested with multiple dogs—both male and female—and has been nothing but friendly, playful, and social. He lights up in the play yard, soaking in every moment of joy and companionship he was once denied.

Jona is neutered, microchipped, has received his rabies vaccine and DAPP vaccine.

He’s healthy, young, and so ready to start over… but shelter life isn’t where he belongs. Dogs like Jona don’t just need a home—they need a second chance at the life they were never given.

He’s an energetic, affectionate boy who will thrive with someone who can give him the love, activity, and stability he’s been missing.

Jona has already waited so long.

Please don’t let him grow up in a kennel when he could be curled up at your feet.

Come meet Jona. Let him show you just how much love he still has to give. 🐶💙

At the time it is unknown if he is house/crate trained.
