Jolene's Story
Meet Jolene (aka JoJo) – Your New Best Friend!

Jolene is a sweet, soulful senior gal with a playful spark and a whole lot of love to give. At around 10-11 years old, she’s been through some hard times—including being left outdoors before being rescued by animal control—but she hasn’t let that dim her light. Now, she’s soaking up every bit of love and comfort her foster home offers and is ready to find her forever family.

What Jolene Loves:
*Belly rubs and butt scritches (her two favorite forms of spa treatment!)
*Kongs, treats, and especially cheese
*Going for car rides and exploring the world by your side
*Showing off her smarts—she knows sit, shake, lay down, and more
*Being outdoors and hanging out wherever you are
*Gentle kiddos over age 5 who can give her the attention she craves

She’s crate trained, house trained, and absolutely adores being with her humans. Jolene is what we like to call a Velcro dog—she just wants to be near you, whether that’s lounging on the couch or riding shotgun on a quick errand run.

Health Notes:
Jolene did experience a little bit of urinary incontinence, which means she occasionally leaks urine. This is common in senior dogs and easily managed with daily medication, which she will likely need to stay on long-term. The medication helps regulate her bladder muscles and she's been doing amazing with it with little leakage -comfy and clean! She’s a champ at taking it too, especially if you hide it in cheese!

The Fine Print:
Jolene isn’t a fan of nail trims (understandable, right?), and she’s still figuring out how she feels about cats. She’s also a little picky when it comes to her doggie friends—at her age, she knows what she likes. With the right pup and slow introductions, she could find a canine companion, but she’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only.

Ideal Home:
*Someone home often or willing to include her in their outings
*A laid-back lifestyle with short walks and a cozy place to nap
*A patient, loving family who understands the joy of senior dog love
*Kids over 5 who will shower her with affection and treats

Jolene is truly a gem—gentle, loving, and so ready to be cherished in her golden years. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side and fill your home with warmth, JoJo might just be your perfect match

rescueapittie.org
Estimated DOB: 01/01/2015
