Hello, friends! My name is Johnson! I was found wandering the streets as a stray and brought to the shelter by Animal Control on December 12, 2025. I’m a handsome, good-sized boy estimated to be about 1.5–2 years old. With my fluffy coat, beautiful face, and unique features, we think I may be a Shepherd/Chow Chow mix—but if you see something else in me, let us know in the comments! I’ve already been neutered, I’m up to date on my vaccines, and yes... I tested positive for heartworms. But don’t worry—my heartworm treatment is included with my adoption fee, so I’ll be getting the care I need to be happy and healthy. The best part? I’m super photogenic and already stealing hearts with my good looks and sweet demeanor. West Memphis Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

Due to Arkansas State's Spay Neuter Law, we do not perform same day adoption; unless the animal in particular has already been altered; rather an application to adopt must be filled out and then left at the front desk or by website, www.westmemphisanimalshelter.com Once a completed application has been received and an animal has been chosen, the application is reviewed by the adoption advisor and the process could take 24-48 hrs before you are contacted, please be patient. Veterinary references are most helpful if you currently have a pet in the home or have owned one in the past, sterilization of animals already in the home are mandatory, a fence/property check must be completed , if renting, landlord will be notified so we will need a contact number to verify applicant indeed can adopt said animal. All animals adopted from the West Memphis Animal Shelter must be sterilized according to Arkansas State Law.
