Johnny's Story
I’m Johnny, male, 2yrs, 55lbs, German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix (breeds verified with DNA test), neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped. I’m potty, crate, leash, & car trained.

I am such a good boy, my Foster Mom cannot believe how easily I am melting into her pack. I have the best temperament, mild mannered, quiet, gentle, and sweet. My chestnut eyes are soulful and show you all my love. I am a quiet boy that seeks out my crate as a safe haven. I have such a mild energy level. I’m happy to play and run outside, love walking on a loose leash in the neighborhood, and easily and willingly go in my crate for a nappy break during the day.

True to my Lab side, I am a playful and goofy boy. I playfully and gently bat my arms in the air when playing with other dogs or even when playing with a toy by myself! I am sure to keep you smiling every day. My GSD side has me more cautious with new humans. However, my curiosity luckily wins out, and I can’t help but boop you on your elbow asking for some chin scratches and ear rubs. I warm up quickly with some love and patience. I am a loyal boy that will follow you all around the house, just wanting to be near you.

My Foster Mom is in awe of how well behaved and good natured I am even with my rough start in life. I was found abandoned on the side of the road in Mississippi. I started in the local shelter where I was named after Johnny Utah, the Keanu Reeves character, in the movie Point Break that played a federal agent undercover as a surfer boy. Why, you may ask? Rumor has it the person running the shelter is ex-CIA, how cool is that! After 5mo in the shelter I found myself on the euthanasia list and luckily was scooped up by Charlie’s Rescue and into a local foster home for 9mo. After no one inquired about adopting me, I made the journey North to my current foster home in Michigan. I'm looking for my dream home with a fenced in yard.

Apply to adopt me in Michigan through Charlie’s Rescue.
