John Wayne's Story
If interested, please contact the foster home. Petfinder Profiles doesn’t always work.

Meet John Wayne — the strong, quiet type (with a soft side… and an opinion or two) If you’re looking for a dog who’s less chaos and more quiet loyalty, John Wayne might just be your guy. Somewhere between 3–5 years old and about 50 lbs, this Australian Cattle Dog is the definition of steady and stoic. He’s not the life of the party… in fact, he’d much rather skip the nonsense and stick close to his person. And when we say close… we mean glued to you at all times. Your shadow? That’s John Wayne now. ❤️

He’s currently living with 3 other dogs and 2 cats in his foster home and does just fine with them — he simply prefers human company over joining in the group shenanigans. He’s not big on playing with the pack, but give him a ball (or better yet, a herding ball), and you’ll see his playful side come to life. Don’t let the tough guy name fool you, though… this cowboy is a total softie. He’s a world-class snuggler and fully believes your spot on the couch is actually his spot. Personal space? Never heard of it.

Now, while he may be stoic, he’s not silent — John Wayne will absolutely let you know when he wants your attention. Consider it his way of making sure you don’t forget he’s there (not that you could).

John Wayne would thrive with someone who appreciates a calmer, deeply devoted companion — the kind of dog who doesn’t need constant excitement, just his person. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who will stick by you through it all (and maybe gently nudge you off your own couch),

John Wayne is ready to ride. Interested?
