Joey's Story
Meet Joey – Your Couch Companion King

Joey is a 7-year-old, 14-pound Terrier mix with an adorable apricot and cream wire coat and the cutest little blocky head. Low grooming needs and low energy? Yes please. This boy is all about the simple life.

Joey originally came from a hoarding situation and was lovingly adopted by his Dogworks foster. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen medical circumstances, she was no longer able to care for her dogs — so Joey is back with us and ready for his true forever home.

If you’re looking for a dog who wants to run marathons or learn a dozen tricks… Joey is not your guy. But if you’re looking for a loyal couch buddy to binge Netflix with? He is absolutely your guy.

His favorite thing in the world?
Wiggling his way onto your chest or into your arms while you watch TV. He is a champion cuddler and takes his snuggle duties very seriously.

Joey enjoys:
• Lounging on the couch
• Short, casual walks (optional but appreciated)
• Car rides
• Barking at the window like a responsible neighborhood watch member
• Treats (taken gently, most of the time)

He’s friendly when meeting new people and generally just a chill little dude doing dog stuff. He comes when called and responds well to calm verbal correction or a simple time-out. He does not like being grabbed quickly or yelled at, so he needs a patient, understanding adult home.

Ideal Home for Joey:
• Adults only
• No cats (he thinks he’s tougher than he is)
• Other calm dogs are fine
• Someone who wants companionship more than performance
• A relaxed home where he can just vibe

Joey is crate trained, mostly potty trained (occasional accidents but does well with supervision or belly bands), and does not require a fenced yard — though he should not be left unattended outside until he’s settled in.

He’s affectionate, independent, dignified, friendly, and proudly a couch potato. He may not be the most eager student, but he means well and loves deeply.

If you’re looking for a low-key best friend who just wants to hang out and be your little shadow, Joey might be your perfect match.

Joey is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention

His adoption fee is $350.

Please follow the link below for the adoption application.
