Joe Cocker Spaniel's Story

Meet Joe Cocker Spaniel! He is 6 months old and 12lbs. He was rescued from South LA Shelter by a good samaritan hoping she would be able to find him the perfect forever home. She searched and searched for months. She had him temporarily staying at her apartment, but felt guilty that she would need to keep him in a crate 3-4 hours a day. In her heart she knew he needed to be in a home with a family. She reached out to Shelter Hope for help. In her heartfelt letter to us, she expressed what a truly amazing boy he is: “That dog has a beautiful soul. There is a purity in him I’ve never seen before and I am so grateful for the ways he has changed me and my life forever.”

He is an incredibly sweet and loving pup. He’s got lots of energy and loves to play and run in the yard. He absolutely loves cuddles and lap time. Joe also enjoys toys and chewies. He thrives on routine and does very well on the leash. He especially loves having a playmate. Joe will gently wrestle all day long.

According to his previous foster, he is house trained, crate trained, and rarely barks. She did mention that his confidence at times can get the best of him. One time he tried to jump on a high bed and bruised his foot. He is completely healed now.

Be ready to adopt.

Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation.
